Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Nitrous oxide is sometimes referred to as laughing gas due to the fact that it induces a feeling of euphoria that occasionally results in giggling. You can breathe in nitrous oxide mixed with oxygen throughout your appointment via a special mask placed over your nose. Note that nitrous oxide does not put you to sleep; it just helps you stay calm while we work on your teeth and gums. Also, the effects will wear off within minutes of the mask being removed, so you won’t have to worry about getting someone else to drive you home.
